While Ford CMAX Hybrid will operate much like today's hybrid vehicles, CMAX Energi will benefit from daily charging to maximize its allelectric range Thanks to the efficiencies of its rightsized battery system, the plugin hybrid easily recharges 100 percent overnight on a 1volt outlet I tried a battery tender that was plugged in while towing It didn't work Ford recommended a product called "toad charge" which I purchased and installed myself I have not had a problem since I love the CMax for a number of reasons, most importantly the ease of entry and exit for someone with back problems Good luck in making your decision There are no instructions or even mention of the 12V battery or its location in the Ford CMax Energi owner's manual and I couldn't find any photos or video
